Boston-based Abril Torres was a successful business strategist, but her fall from grace in the profession is just as well known making her persona non grata. While the financial disaster with her last job was not her fault, she believes she just needs to show the world that she is an asset still worth investing in to get back into the game. With no one seemingly willing to take that risk with her, she further believes that she has her own personal business that she can show the world what she can do when her cousin Belinda, with who she co-owns the family's ranch in Argentina, tells her that someone has made an offer to buy it. Bel has been running the ranch since it was deeded to the two of them. Abril has not been back in fifteen years in painful memories with Diego, an ex, whose family has been the ranch caretakers for as long as Abril and Bel's family has owned it, those painful memories as Diego left that last summer fifteen years ago to pursue his own life in finance in Mexico City. Bel no longer wants to run the ranch as she wants to open her own restaurant, while Abril comes back to the ranch to evaluate the proposal to see if there is a way for them not need to sell but still allow Bel the ability to open her restaurant. What Abril does not know until she arrives is that the proposed buyer is Diego, who returned from Mexico City a few months ago in wanting to get back to his "gaucho" roots. Abril and Diego end up butting heads as much about Diego's want to buy the property as much about their past relationship, especially as a big part of their issues was Diego running away as quickly from the ranch as he could. But they discover some issues in the process which require them to combine forces and which in turn may bring back some old feelings between the them. Those feelings and their future together will be affected by what does happen with the ranch and Abril's ability to show the world her business acumen.
